Nicolas is passionate about using data to answer challenging economic questions. He worked as a Core Researcher at Terra and was in charge of designing Terra's stablecoin mechanism. Nicolas was also a Senior Research Specialist at Princeton University, using empirical methods to assess the interplay between financial markets and the economy. Prior to that, he worked as a researcher at the London School of Economics and the Institute of Fiscal Studies.

Nicolas holds a Masters in Economics from the University College London.

With extensive experience in reporting the latest technology trends in Asia, Frida was mesmerized by the potential of crypto and blockchain industries and has been devoting her career into the space ever since.

Frida holds a bachelor degree in Foreign Affair and a History minor from University of Virginia. She is also a graduate from Columbia University Journalism School with a Master of Science degree in Data Journalism.

Frida is a Manhattan-based pilates instructor. She is also an avid traveller, leaving her footprints in 25 countries so far.

Kel is a 4th year Economics and Philosophy student at Boston College. His passion for blockchain comes from both his academic and family background, as family in Nigeria gave him an international perspective. He believes in blockchain technology's ability to be the answer to a wide range of economic and philosophical questions. Kel is currently co-president at the BC Blockchain Club.

As a Business Development and Marketing analyst, Kel is focused on bringing the benefits of Sperax to people worldwide. In his free time, he likes to learn new things about the world on Youtube and Twitter, to have good conversations, and to play FIFA.

Enhancing the Sperax community

Alexandra Garza enhances the community experience and grows international partnerships at Sperax. Interested in blockchain affordances and the evolving dynamic between communication and technology, her most recent experience was in marketing at the fintech firm Trading Technologies.

Alexandra holds a bachelor’s degree and is currently completing her master’s degree in communication and media at DePaul University. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, going to museums, cooking and yoga.

Blockchain simulation and related product design

Andy joins Sperax with the enthusiasm to perform research on blockchain design and simulation, and related product design and development. He is experienced in data analysis and algorithm development.

Andy is currently a PhD candidate in the Statistics department at UCLA. Before that, he graduated with a Bachelor of science degree in applied mathematics. He is a soccer fan in his spare time.

Alec is passionate about bridging the gap between the traditional financial system and the wild west of decentralized finance.

As a Finance undergraduate at Marquette University, Alec founded Marquette's Blockchain Lab. In addition, Alec launched Euphrates Group Consulting in 2017: providing DLT education and implementation services to SMB's in the greater Milwaukee area. He was awarded Wisconsin Inno's 25 Under 25 Innovators for this work. After graduation, he worked at Marquette University's business school: managing the finances of student startups at Marquette's Student-run Business Program.

Outside of financial technology, Alec is passionate about snowboarding, digital privacy, men's streetwear and finding the best deli in your city.

Radiance from inside

Susu has a strong technical background in quantitative finance and is captivated by the great potential in blockchain applications. She is proficient in machine learning algorithms, portfolio optimization, big data technology, and statistical analysis. She has been committed to exploring the decentralized economic ecosystem and can not wait to contribute more value to the space.

Susu holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Statistics from the University of Virginia. She just graduated from Cornell University with a Master of Science degree in Financial Engineering. She enjoys dancing, traveling, hiking, and cooking outside of work. She loves coffee so much that her little puppy is named Latte.

Always learning, always creating

As a Business Development analyst at Sperax, Katherine works to share Sperax with the world! She brings to the table her experience as Head of Business Development at Blockchain at Berkeley, her background in mathematics and the arts, her ability to connect with people, and her passion for all things blockchain!

Katherine is a 3rd year at the University of California, Berkeley, studying Applied Mathematics with a focus on Economics. Born in Tokyo, and having lived in many different countries, she enjoys experiencing new cultures and meeting new people. She is a pianist who likes to compose in her free time, as well as go to museums, study art history, and watch Formula 1 racing.

Decentralize everything

As a researcher at Sperax, Mihir is a 3rd year Computer Science major at the University of California, Davis. He’s super passionate about blockchain and is currently the President of Blockchain @ Davis, the UC Davis blockchain club.

Apart from blockchain, he is also interested in space travel, leading the Computer Systems subteam of the UC Davis Space and Satellite Systems club, working towards building a satellite which would be launched in 2021. He also loves playing Minecraft and Rocket League in his spare time.

Edging towards a decentralized future

Joe Yu helped Prof. Wang design the consensus protocol of Sperax as his chief research assistant. He is also a co-author and the conference presenter of Sperax’s IEEE paper -- “Sperax: An Approach To Defeat Long Range Attacks.” As an active voice in the crypto community, he has been invited to speak in various panels, interviews, universities and conferences, such as Diffusion Digital 2020, IEEE INFOCOM 2020, University of California Santa Barbara, University of California Los Angeles, etc.

Joe graduated with a Bachelor degree in Mathematics of Computation and a Philosophy minor from UCLA. As a young Bruin and one of the initial members of Sperax, Joe is passionate about building a decentralized, secure, high-performance platform for the value-embedded, next-generation internet.

Captivated by the potential of the blockchain industry, David joined Sperax to help build a high-performance decentralized platform with his background in mathematics and software development.

David holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics of Computation from the University of California, Los Angeles. Outside of study and work, he enjoys watching movies, writing film reviews, and editing videos. Recently he is also learning digital comic drawing online.

Ryan is an executive that works to realize outlier returns for stakeholders in token-enabled decentralized consensus networks that leverage blockchain technology. After decade working in renewable energy focused on the negotiation, development, execution and operation of utility-scale renewable generation assets, Ryan discovered Bitcoin in late 2012 and subsequently became very passionate about the Ethereum ecosystem and blockchain technology generally. He began as an Angel Investor supporting start-ups developing deeply compelling innovations with blockchain-enabled networks.
